Abstract

Natural enemies of mustard aphid play vital role in checking the population of L. erysimi below the threshold level. Study revealed that Betasyrphus sp. grubs are potential aphidophagus predetor. Feeding potential increases with the age of larva. Ist instar grub consumed on an average 6.10-6.80 aphids per day, second instar devoured 60.90-66.50 aphids and third instar consumed 84.3-85.5 aphids per day. Betasyrphus sp can be used in field as potential bio control agent of musterd aphid L. erysmi. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
