Connecting language learners with the community: A library outreach project for children.

This article presents a small community outreach project in which undergraduate learners of German taught two sessions of German to children at the local library. The article explains the design of the project and the individual lesson and summarizes a small research project that analyzed the effects of the project on the undergraduates. Specifically, effects on undergraduates' language skills in the area of vocabulary were investigated as well as their perceptions of the project.
