Treatment of a low grade T cell proliferation with monoclonal antibody.

A therapeutic trial of a pan-T monoclonal antibody is described in a patient with a low grade mature T cell proliferation and haemopoietic suppression. The study shows that non-complement fixing IgGl antibodies can be highly effective opsonins, and the dose required can be estimated from in vitro studies. It is demonstrated that therapeutic failure occurred due to the appearance of anti-mouse antibodies and not to anligenic modulation or reticuloendothelial blockade.
