Through a sample of 291 human resource managers, the paper establishes how there is a positive relationship between organizational climate for innovation, service orientation, job embeddedness and innovation service behaviour. By scrutinizing 15 projects with elements of business model innovation and through the use of fuzzy-set qualitative comparative analysis, the study illustrates the link between four overall capabilities for business model innovation and the subsequent outcomes in terms of project performance and longer-term potential.
