Abstract

Citric acid assisted barium titanate (CABT) nanostructured materials are prepared by facile hydrothermal route. The synthesized CABT samples are subjected to various characterization analyses such as XRD, SEM, TEM, UV, RTPL and dielectric studies. Powder XRD analysis revealed a single crystalline perovskite cubic crystal structure in the CABT sample. The elongated spherical-like morphology of the CABT sample was revealed by SEM and TEM analysis. CABT sample's band gap energy is estimated by the UV absorption analysis. RTPL emission studies showed the luminescence behavior of the nanostructured CABT sample. CABT sample has a low dielectric constant (ε<subscript>r</subscript>) value at high frequencies, indicating improved optical quality with lesser defects. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
