Octavia E. Butler.

A biography of novelist Octavia E. Butler is presented. Butler was born in Pasadena, California on June 22, 1947 and died in Seattle, Washington on February 24, 2006. She began writing when she was about ten years old and began to experiment with science fiction one day at the age of 12 years old. She attended Pasadena City College and then California State College at Los Angeles, where she was unable to major in creative writing. Her works include "Kindred," Survivor," and "Patternmaster."
