Abstract

A biography of novelist, essayist, and memoirist Roxane Gay is presented. Gay was born in Omaha, Nebraska on October 15, 1974 to immigrants from Haiti. She recalls being a very lonely child who was very socially awkward and who always had trouble making friends. She began teaching English first at Eastern Illinois University, then at Purdue University, and then at Yale University. His works include "Bad Feminist," "Hunger: A Memoir of (My) Body," and "The Best American Short Stories."
