Ntozake Shange.

A biography of playwright, novelist, and poet Ntozake Shange is presented. Shange was born in Trenton, New Jersey on October 18, 1948 to Paul T. Williams, a surgeon, and Eloise Williams, a psychiatric social worker and educator, and died in Bowie, Maryland on October 27, 2018. She grew up in a privileged, upper-middle-class environment. Her works include "Sassafras: A Novella," "Some Sing, Some Cry," and "The Collected Short Stories."
