- A biography of novelist and playwright Djuna Barnes is presented. Barnes was born on June 12, 1892 to an eccentric, bohemian family in Cornwall-on-Hudson, New York and died on June 18, 1982 in New York City. She did not receive formal education but she was educated at home in Cornwall-on-Hudson. Her achievements are mentioned. Her works include "Ladies Alamanack," "Ryder," and "Nightwood."
