- A biography of essayist and novelist Anne Lamott is presented. Lamott was born on April 10, 1954 in San Francisco, California to writer Kenneth Lamott and Dorothy Lamott, who worked as a lawyer. She developed a love of reading at an early age from her parents. She started writing at an early age and first received attention for her talent in grade school. Her achievements are mentioned. Her works include "Hard Laughter," "Rosie," and "All New People."
