Abstract
- Increased garbage generation is a growing problem in developing countries. Households mainly create the bulk of municipal solid waste in Brunei. Brunei has also followed the same path. If the wastes are not managed properly, the country will face environmental challenges, such as enormous amounts of rubbish filling landfills. Sweden is the global frontrunner in trash management and recycling. While the waste energy technology in Sweden has recycled 99 % of the wastes, Brunei has only recycled 11.3 % of its entire waste. The current waste management and disposal in Brunei can be improved by focusing efforts on a unified, integrated waste management system in Sweden. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
