Abstract

The widespread occurrence of various types of emerging pollutants (EC) and their adverse effects on the environment and health have become a matter of great concern. In EC, bioactive compounds from drugs, cosmeceuticals, biomedicine, personal care (PPCP), endocrine disruptors (EDC), and flame retardants are the main concerns. The persistence and existence of EC in (aqueous solution) have aroused intense and continuous worldwide attention. This work overviews the current and state-of-the-art critical aspect related to hazardous pollutants at large and ECs in particular by the immobilized oxidoreductase enzyme. In addition, challenges and perspectives of emerging contaminates are also discussed. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
