ECONOMICA 2011-2020: AN ANALYSIS OF CITATION PATTERN.

Abstract
- Citations are the references, included by the authors in their articles, from which authors collect relevant information to support the issues relevant to subject matter presented in their articles. Information on trend, growth and development of any subject is known from the journal sources. This paper attempts to analysis the results of citation study of 9527 citations contributed by 574 authors, appeared in volumes 78, number 309 (2011) to volume 87, number 348 (2020) of the renowned international economic journal, Economica. Out of total 9527 citations, 6173 (64.795%) citations are from Journals and succeeded by Books 2097 (22.011%) citations. The maximum cited journals are in English language figuring 5875 (95.173%) citations.6173 ranked journals are published from 59 countries of which 2681 (43.431%) journals are from USA and succeeded by UK with 2073 (33.582%) citations. The major subject headings are from 'American Economics' with 670 (10.854%) citations and 'Econometrics' holds as second position with 652 (10.562%) citations. 'American Economic Review', USA ranks first with 481 (7.792%) citations. Journal's citation analysis provides the information about development and trend of research activities and it is to find out the leading areas of research of the subject. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
