Abstract

With an increasing population of about 1.34 billion, Africa accounts for 17.2% of the world population and is the second most populous continent.[1] Yet, it is a region of huge inequality, with the majority of the people in its 52 countries living below the poverty level. Yet, the dose-response effects of this ubiquitous mode of physical activity on multiple health outcomes among African residents are unknown. In addition, there is need to quantify the effects of incidental light-intensity physical activity on health outcomes in the African population. [Extracted from the article]
