Abstract

Polymethylsilsesquioxane microspheres were synthesized by hydrolysis condensation with methyltrimethoxysilane as raw material. The effects of raw material ratio, hydrolysis time, hydrolysis pH, polycondensation time and polycondensation pH on particle size were discussed. The optimum synthesis conditions are as follows: the mass ratio of methyltrimethoxysilane to ultrapure water is 1: (7-8), hydrolysis time is 1 h, hydrolysis pH value is 5-6 polycondensation time is 2 h, and polycondensation pH value is 9. At the same time, the filtrate generated in the reaction process shall be reused as solvent to prepare polymethylsilsesquioxane microspheres, which achieves the goal of environmental protection. When polymethylsilsesquioxane microspheres are used as light diffusion agent of polycarbonate, the light diffusion plate has higher light transmittance and haze compared with the similar products in the market.
