Abstract

A reprint of the article "The Unintended Consequences of Diversity Statements" by Sonia Kang, Katherine Decelles, András Tilcsik, and Sora Jun, which was published online on March 29, 2016, is presented. Discrimination in the labor market is addressed, along with a process known as résumé whitening where minority job candidates try to limit the amount of racial clues on their résumés. Employers' cognitive biases and stereotypes are also mentioned.
