From Outlook Calendar's web menu, select "Event from mail" and switch the various reservation options to "Don't show event summaries in email or on my calendar". I really don't mind moving from Windows, but some of the software I use isn't available in a Linux version and if I jump to Apple then I have to junk all my hardware and buy iOS versions.
