Abstract
- Herein the elemental distributions (V<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript>, Cr<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript>, Al<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript>, and MgO) between spinel and liquid phases were identified in vanadium-bearing slags at 1200 °C to 1600 °C. The methodology includes melting, quenching and EPMA. We found upon increasing temperatures, V<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript> concentration in spinel decreased while that in liquid phase increased; and more CaO induced the transfer of V<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>3</subscript> from spinel to liquid phase. This study provided important clues to target adjust elemental distributions among key phases in vanadium-bearing slags. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
