Abstract

The experiment of bio-efficacy for some novel insecticides against Helicoverpa armigera (Hubner) was conducted at Agriculture Research Farm, Institute of Agricultural Sciences, Banaras Hindu University by growing a popular variety 'PUSA 362' in a Randomized Block Design having eight treatments with three replications in the plot size of 3 × 1.8 m with a spacing of row to row and plant to plant of 30 x 15 cm, respectively following recommended agronomic practiced to raise the crop of the good stand. During the Rabi season, all treatments were found significantly superior to control after three sprayings. Indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 60 g a.i./ha was the best of all the treatments which reduced larval population followed by Spinosad 45 SC @ 75 g a.i./ha. The highest yield (13.45 q/ha) was recorded in Indoxacarb 14.5 SC @ 60 g a.i./ha treatment and the lowest yield (7.50 q/ha) was recorded from the control plot. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
