Abstract

Innovation ecosystems provide interesting spaces for collaborative innovation leadership among independent and yet interdependent enterprises to pursue the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) in 2030. Enhanced insight and understanding are revealed through participatory action research within two cases in the Offshore wind energy innovation ecosystems in Northern Europe. The findings show the importance for participants to reveal the value proposition at ecosystem level. Next the heterogeneous knowledge domains and heterogeneous behaviours of participants are important for making future sense of needed activities to pursue the UN SDGs. A short-term challenge is present regarding possible reduced revenue in own enterprise from the collaborative innovation leadership proposals for action. This needs to be collaborative addressed to develop more robustness long-term. The findings are summarized and shown in a model for insight, understanding and dissemination of collaborative innovation leadership in innovation ecosystems to pursue the UN SDG in practice.
