THE ACTIVITIES OF THE TECHNICAL DOCUMENTATION AND INFORMATION CENTER FOR THE NETHERLANDS.

The article presents a brief history of the Technisch Documenten Centrum of the Netherlands and a discussion of the major responsibilities of its technical representatives abroad. Immediately after the termination of the war in Europe, allied teams of technicians and scientists began to pour into Germany to report on German wartime technology. The main Netherlands unit, which had been working under the auspices of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, was transferred to the Ministry of Economic Affairs on May 1, 1947. The liaison officer in Washington therefore was logically attached to the Economic Department of the Netherlands Embassy, as a technical adviser.
