Editorial.

An editorial is presented which introduces a special issue of Communication and Medicine (C&M) that is a collection of written-up versions of presentations from the 19th COMET (Communication, Medicine, and Ethics) conference, highlighting various topics ranging from dental professionals' role perceptions to public and social media narratives about vaccination. It also discusses the longstanding relationship between the COMET conference and C&M journal.
