Abstract
- The article raises concerns about respiratory health problems and future air quality emergencies as a result of the wildfire smoke that blanketed the northeastern U.S. Symptoms of exposure to air pollutants include headaches, asthma attacks and chest pains. Recommendations for health protection include remaining indoors during high pollution episodes, staying aware of local air quality, use of cloth masks, and consulting with health care providers if with lung disease or respiratory disorder.
