Abstract

The article discusses the possible use of carve-outs or a designated percentage of resources to fund rural public health initiatives based on evidence from the pandemic to ensure equitable resource distribution in 2023. Topics covered include carve-outs' provision of table seats for rural health leaders, and facilitation of creating new rural-centric programs. Also noted are carve-outs' increase of engagement with community-based organizations.
