Abstract

The potential of solar energy in Indonesia has become the main priority of the government to put some essential actions. As the regulations have been declared, the activities to explore solar energy to become large-scale photovoltaic (PV) power plants and small-scale rooftop PV systems. This paper is reviewing the current condition of electricity in Indonesia, the development of PV power plant including rooftop PV system, the roles and regulation that take places, and the Covid-19 impact towards the PV current development and several issues that following it. The solutions to overcome the pandemic has been thoroughly set by the government to achieve the target of 6.5 GW installed PV by the 2025. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
