Abstract
- The paper deals with dynamic response of cylindrical steel reinforced concrete tank subjected to earthquake loading. When a tank containing liquid vibrates, the fluid filling exerts additional hydrodynamic pressure together with hydrostatic pressure on solid domain of the tank. Dynamic analysis of a liquid–filled tank can be done using the concept of generalized single – degree – of freedom (SDOF) systems representing impulsive and convective modes of vibration of the tank – liquid system. The dynamic response of cylindrical tank subjected to earthquake loading are total base shears, total bending moment and total overturning moment. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
