Abstract
- Titanium dioxide doped by carbon and nitrogen was applied in a combination process of photocatalytic and ozonation (photozonolytic). The objective of the photozonolytic is to degrade synthetic organic dye, orange-F3R, in an aqueous phase under a variety of light sources. The degradation parameters that had an impact on photozonolytic were analyzed as though the concentration of orange-F3R dye solution, the mass of C-N-codoped TiO<subscript>2</subscript> added, light sources (UV-A lamp, visible-lamp, and solar light), and exposure time. The Orange-F3R solution with a 30 mg L<superscript>−1</superscript> concentration was reduced by the ozonation process in 90 minutes to 14%, as determined by a spectrophotometric measurement. The C-N-codoped TiO<subscript>2</subscript> catalyst could be active by ozone attack without light exposure. It is proven that there is an increase in the degradation efficiency of up to 35.5% during ozonation by the presence of the catalyst. It was observed that applied C-N-codoped TiO<subscript>2</subscript> catalysts in the combination of photozonolytic under solar light exposure was more effective than ozonation alone. For 90 minutes of solar light exposure, the degradation efficiency was 53.3%, and for UV-lamp and visible-lamp exposure it was 36.2% and 39.3%, respectively. [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
