Abstract

The Latin description validating the name of this new species and the designation of a holotype were published in the Addenda IV ("Diagnoses plantarum novarum in tomo V Florae URSS commemoratum") on page 716, and the epithet was cited as ' I thjanschanicus i '. 8b, Bot. 19: 11 (1935), not validly publ." (https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:697558-1) is cited as a synonym of the accepted name I R. thjanschanicus i (https://powo.science.kew.org/taxon/urn:lsid:ipni.org:names:697559-1). However, if these names are considered as referring to one species, the better-known name I R. tianschanicus i will be used, which will better serve the standardization and taxonomic stability for the increasingly popular and important hybrid dock cultivars.
