Abstract
- A study conducted at Tottori Prefectural Central Hospital in Japan examined the relationship between blood flow in the dorsal scapular artery (DSA) and shoulder joint function in patients with rotator cuff tears (RCTs). The researchers found that the peak systolic velocity (PSV) in the DSA was significantly higher on the tear side compared to the non-tear side. They also discovered a negative correlation between PSV in the DSA and external rotation range of motion (ROM) on the tear side. These findings suggest that increased PSV in the DSA may contribute to limitations in shoulder joint function in patients with RCTs. [Extracted from the article]
