Abstract

This article, published in the National Journal of Physiology, Pharmacy & Pharmacology, examines the pain-relieving properties of the antibiotic minocycline in Swiss albino mice. The study compares the effects of minocycline with the commonly used analgesic tramadol. The results indicate that minocycline, at doses of 5 mg/kg and 10 mg/kg, has a significant pain-relieving effect in the mice. However, the pain relief provided by minocycline is not as strong as that of tramadol. The study suggests that minocycline may have potential as an analgesic, but further research is necessary.
