Abstract

A study conducted by the Korea Food Research Institute explored the potential anti-obesity effects of Asimina triloba (pawpaw) fruit extract. The study found that treatment with the fruit extract effectively suppressed lipid droplet formation and inhibited the expression of proteins involved in adipogenesis. These findings suggest that A. triloba fruit has the potential to prevent obesity by inhibiting fat synthesis and may serve as a natural source for anti-obesity functional agents. The research was supported by the Korea Food Research Institute and the Ministry of Science and ICT, South Korea. [Extracted from the article]
