Abstract

Researchers from Saveetha University in Tamil Nadu, India have developed an optical biosensor using multi-walled carbon nanotubes (MWCNTs) for the detection of chronic lymphocytic leukemia (CLL) biomarkers. The biosensor operates by monitoring the electrostatic interactions caused by the adsorption of biological and chemical species on the semiconductor surface. The sensitivity and performance of the biosensor can be enhanced by adjusting factors such as silane binding time, antibody concentration, and antibody binding duration on the surface of MWCNTs. This research provides a novel approach to understanding the operation of biosensors and offers potential for early diagnosis and prognosis of CLL in blood cancer patients.
