Abstract

Researchers from the Centro de Investigacion en Alimentacion y Desarrollo in Culiacan, Mexico, have conducted a study on the bioactivity of compounds extracted from Jatropha cordata (Ortega) Mull. Arg. bark. The researchers found that a mixture of sterols and n-heptyl ferulate exhibited anti-inflammatory activity, with the sterol mixture showing greater activity than the positive control. The study suggests that these compounds have potential as alternative treatments for chronic inflammation, but further research and clinical trials are needed to fully explore their therapeutic potential. The research was published in the journal Plants. [Extracted from the article]
