Abstract
- Lithium oxalate (Li<subscript>2</subscript>C<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>4</subscript>) is an attractive cathode pre-lithiation additive for lithium-ion batteries (LIBs), but its application is hindered by its high decomposition potential (>4.7 V). Due to the liquid–solid synergistic effect of the NaNO<subscript>2</subscript> additive and the LiNi<subscript>0.83</subscript>Co<subscript>0.07</subscript>Mn<subscript>0.1</subscript>O<subscript>2</subscript> (NCM) cathode material, the decomposition efficiency of micro-Li<subscript>2</subscript>C<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>4</subscript> reaches 100% at a low charge cutoff voltage of 4.3 V. Our work boosts the widespread practical application of Li<subscript>2</subscript>C<subscript>2</subscript>O<subscript>4</subscript> by a simple and promising electrolyte-assisted cathode pre-lithiation strategy.
