Abstract
- Despite the gender pay gap in Australia narrowing to its lowest point in almost a decade, progress in promoting women to top corporate roles has stalled. The average annual pay difference between men and women decreased by 1.1 percentage points, but the proportion of women in CEO positions remained low at 22%. Australia ranks 26th on the Global Gender Gap Index and will soon require companies with 100 or more employees to report their gender pay gap data annually. The country's industries with the largest pay gaps are construction, financial and insurance services, and rental, hiring, and real estate services. [Extracted from the article]
