Abstract

New research from the University of New England in Armidale, Australia explores the concept of the sharing economy and its potential for economic growth and sustainability. The study presents a comprehensive analytical framework for understanding sharing economy business models, identifying three main segments: knowledge of sharing economy, supplier-oriented studies, and consumer-socioeconomic-sustainability-focused research. The research also highlights six key research directions for the post-COVID-19 era, including determinants and ecosystems, emerging economies, location- and culture-specific models, sustainability, and combined impacts on socioeconomics. This peer-reviewed study provides valuable insights for policymakers, practitioners, and researchers interested in the sharing economy. [Extracted from the article]
