Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at the Vellore Institute of Technology in India has utilized artificial intelligence (AI) to predict mortality rates in head and neck cancer patients. The study found that lifestyle factors such as smoking and tobacco use are strongly associated with the development of cancerous cells in these regions of the body. By using machine learning and deep learning models, the researchers achieved a maximum accuracy of 98.8% in predicting mortality rates. The findings of this study have the potential to greatly impact medical professionals by aiding in the prediction of patient mortality and informing appropriate treatment strategies.
