Abstract
- A study conducted by Washington State University has found that the effectiveness of peracetic acid (PAA) in reducing Listeria monocytogenes on fresh apples can be enhanced by using certain commercially available cleaners. The study evaluated the efficacy of different cleaners, such as Acidex Duo, EpiClean, Nature's Shield 220-ACL, and Nature's Shield 330-ALK, in combination with PAA. The results showed that incorporating these cleaners significantly improved the antimicrobial efficacy of PAA. This research provides new insights into improving food safety measures in the apple industry. [Extracted from the article]
