Abstract
- A recent study conducted by researchers at I-Shou University in Taiwan aimed to identify risk factors for bronchopulmonary dysplasia (BPD) in premature infants. The study analyzed data from 3,111 infants with a birth weight of 1500 gm or gestational age (GA) < 30 weeks. The results showed that low GA, low birth weight, and other perinatal factors were significant risk indicators for BPD. Additionally, male gender, small for GA (SGA), and endotracheal intubation (ETT) or cardiopulmonary cerebral resuscitation (CPCR) during initial resuscitation were identified as additional risk factors for moderate-to-severe BPD. The study provides valuable insights for focused interventions and further research in the field. [Extracted from the article]
