Abstract

A recent study conducted at the Third Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University in China has found that thrombospondin 2 (TSP2) may be a potential biomarker for essential hypertension. The study examined the association between circulating TSP2 levels and blood pressure, as well as other clinical parameters. The results showed that TSP2 levels were elevated in individuals with essential hypertension and positively correlated with blood pressure and insulin resistance. The researchers suggest that TSP2 may play a role in regulating renal sodium excretion, insulin resistance, and endothelial function. [Extracted from the article]
