Abstract

A new study conducted by researchers at Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in China has investigated the effect and mechanism of Si-Miao-Yong-An decoction (SMYAD) on thromboangiitis obliterans (TAO). SMYAD is a traditional Chinese therapeutic formula consisting of four Chinese herbs. The study utilized network pharmacology-based approaches to identify the components and targets of SMYAD and found that it primarily acts through anti-inflammatory and therapeutic angiogenesis mechanisms. In vivo and in vitro experiments confirmed the efficacy of SMYAD in improving TAO symptoms and inhibiting its development. [Extracted from the article]
