Abstract

A recent study conducted at Kaohsiung Medical University in Taiwan compared the effectiveness of the ankle-brachial index (ABI) and the toe-brachial index (TBI) in diagnosing peripheral arterial disease (PAD) in patients with diabetic kidney disease (DKD). The study found that TBI had a better detection rate for PAD compared to ABI in Taiwanese patients with DKD. Additionally, the cardio-ankle vascular index (CAVI) was found to be significant in the early stages of DKD. This research provides valuable insights into diagnostic techniques for PAD in patients with DKD. [Extracted from the article]
