Abstract
- A new artificial intelligence (AI) model developed by scientists at Scripps Research could improve the screening of patients for atrial fibrillation (AFib), an irregular heartbeat associated with stroke and heart failure. The model analyzes data from electrocardiogram (ECG) patches worn by nearly half a million people to identify patterns that indicate AFib risk. This AI model has the potential to detect individuals at risk for AFib and prevent the severe side effects of the condition, such as stroke and heart failure. The researchers plan to further study and improve the model by integrating additional data sources. [Extracted from the article]
