Abstract

A study conducted at the Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences in Uttar Pradesh, India, aimed to investigate the seroprevalence of human parvovirus B19 (B19V) in both haematological and extra-haematological disorders. The study analyzed 674 serum samples from patients suspected of B19V infection and found that B19V-specific IgM and IgG antibodies were detected in 35.7% of the samples. The study concluded that the seroprevalence of B19V was relatively low compared to other regions and provided valuable information on B19V seroprevalence in different clinical disorders.
