Abstract

A recent study conducted by researchers at Amrita University in Kerala, India, explored the Ayurvedic management of central serous chorioretinopathy (CSCR). CSCR is a common eye condition that primarily affects males in their third and fourth decades, and it is associated with factors such as systemic steroids, hypertension, stress, and type-A personalities. The study presented a case report of a 33-year-old male with CSCR who was treated with Ayurvedic interventions, including nasal medication, therapeutic butter milk-streaming over the body, medicated paste applied overhead, and collyrium. After one month of treatment, the patient experienced significant improvement in visual acuity and a reduction in the size of the elevation and subretinal fluid. The findings suggest that Ayurvedic management can effectively reduce symptoms and improve visual acuity in individuals with CSCR. [Extracted from the article]
