Abstract

A recent study conducted at the Second Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University in China explored the role of zinc finger protein 275 (ZNF275) in cervical cancer. The researchers found that ZNF275 was highly expressed in cervical cancer tissue compared to normal tissue. They also discovered that downregulating ZNF275 suppressed cell viability, migration, and invasion, and promoted apoptosis in cervical cancer cells. Additionally, the study showed that combining the AKT inhibitor triciribine with cisplatin was more effective in inducing tumor regression in cervical cancer patient-derived xenograft models expressing high ZNF275. These findings suggest that ZNF275 could be a predictive indicator of the therapeutic effectiveness of combined triciribine and cisplatin treatment for cervical cancer. However, further research is needed to confirm these results. [Extracted from the article]
