Abstract

A study conducted by researchers at Witten-Herdecke University in Germany explores the use of ecological momentary assessment (EMA) in studying personality disorders. EMA is a method that allows for the examination of dynamic within-person processes in daily life. The researchers reviewed studies published between 2000 and 2021 and found that EMA protocols typically involved around 6.5 assessments per day, lasted for approximately 13 days, and had a compliance rate of about 75%. The study provides recommendations for designing valid research on personality disorders using EMA. [Extracted from the article]
