A new study conducted at Hospital Universitario in Madrid, Spain, compared the effectiveness of conventional genioplasty surgery with personalized surgery using virtual surgical planning (VSP), CAD-CAM cutting guides, and patient-specific plates. The study found that the personalized surgery resulted in shorter operation times and decreased surgical complications, particularly in cases of chin asymmetry.
