Abstract
- A recent report from the Polish Academy of Sciences discusses the development of a biocompatible luminescent thermometer using nanoparticles. The researchers focused on MgTiO3:Cr3+, Nd3+@SiO2 particles, which demonstrated high sensitivity and low cytotoxicity. The introduction of dopants enabled the observation of luminescence, and the difference in thermal quenching rates allowed for ratiometric thermometers. The addition of a SiO2 shell did not significantly affect the performance of the thermometer. This research has potential applications in biomedicine. [Extracted from the article]
