Abstract

The Professional Women's T Hockey League (PWHL) has begun its first season, with each team playing at least two games so far. The PWHL was formed after star players in the Premier Hockey Federation (PHF) fought for higher salaries and more attention. The PWHL consists of three teams in the US (Boston, Minnesota, New York) and three teams in Canada (Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto). The league's first game saw New York defeat Toronto 4-0, with Ella Shelton scoring the first goal. The PWHL has already seen record-breaking attendance, with a game between Minnesota and Montreal attracting 13,316 spectators. Notably, Laila Edwards became the first Black woman to play for the US senior women's national hockey team. [Extracted from the article]
